We take pride in running a safe shooting program!

For the benefit of new users, coaches, visitors, and guests, here is a summary of range-specific rules and guidelines for the OSC indoor range:


  1. Eye and ear protection is required FOR EVERYONE on the range.

  2. The ventilation system must be running before shooting begins, and it must remain running until range clean-up is completed.

  3. The range doors must be closed for proper ventilation and soundproofing.

  4. Pregnant women and children under the age of eight (8) are not permitted on the indoor range.

  5. There is no smoking, eating, or drinking on the indoor range.

  6. The indoor range is limited to handguns, rimfire rifles, and with the proper traps, airguns (pellet and BB).

  7. Specific bullet restrictions are posted at the entrance.
    For rimfire, only round-nose bullets are allowed; hollow-points and expanding bullets are prohibited.

  8. Only paper targets are to be used; these must be placed in the designated target areas.

  9. For you safety, stay out of the pit where the turning target frames are located.

  10. All persons are subject to the directions of a range officer.

  11. Range officers may close the range at any time for reasons of safety or maintenance.

  12. All guns are to be unloaded at all times on club property except when directed to load at the shooting stations.

  13. Under NO circumstance shall anyone handle a firearm when any other person is forward of the firing line.

  14. Shooters will not return to their shooting stations after going downrange until directed by the range officer.
    Coaches, visitors, and guests will not approach the shooting stations while anyone is forward of the firing line.

  15. Muzzles will be pointed downrange at all times when guns are at the shooting stations.
    All guns which are not a shooting station must be placed in the designated safe area.

  16. Guns will not be handled in the clubhouse.

  17. Anyone demonstrating negligent or destructive behavior will be asked to leave the premises.
    All incidents will be reported to the Chief Safety Officer.

  18. Anyone found incompetent in gun safety or handling may be banned from the range.


Understand that rules are in place so that
    A.  No one gets hurt, and
    B.  Nothing gets damaged.

In a learning environment there will be instructions and corrections.
Listen to the Range Officers, and if you are not sure, ask questions.

Have a safe and enjoyable shooting program.
