Magnetic Signs for ARES Events
EVERY Amateur Radio operator should be knowledgeable and skilled in emergency radio communications. Being prepared to serve in times of need is one of the primary reasons why the federal government permits Amateur Radio operators to have virtually free access to the amateur bands.
The
best way to obtain training and acquire some experience in emergency radio
communications procedures is to become involved with ARES, the Amateur
Radio Emergency Service.
I'll provide more information on the Blair County Amateur Radio Emergency Service here someday.
There will be an additional page concerning FEMA's Emergency Management Institute home study courses.
In the meantime, visit our Emergency Coordinator's official Blair County ARES Web Site.
