Ed, W3ERF, designed the magnetic sign shown here for display on vehicles while we are engaged in public service activities and ARES events.

The signs were formerly available locally in two sizes from Eye Catchers Graphics (2513 Sixth Ave., Altoona, PA  16602, 814-946-4080, 1-800-267-4080), but Eye Catchers has recently gone out of business.  The 12" x 18" size cost $36.54 a pair, and the 12" x 24" size cost $44.80 a pair.  (They were available as singles, too.)  A 50% deposit was required with your order.  Horseshoe Amateur Radio Club members can take advantage of the tax-exempt status of our organization to avoid state sales tax.  Typically, Eye Catchers fulfilled the order in one week.

The quality of workmanship was very good.  With proper care and some foresight with use and storage they should provide many years of service.

If there is sufficient interest (i.e., hams willing to place cash down on an order), we can search for a new local supplier.  Ed still has the master design (?), and several members have signs still in excellent condition which could be used as a master.  Contact Ed if you are interested.

Now there's no excuse for being invisible during bike rides and walk-a-thons....
